How do payments and refunds work?
Payments on Tooty are made directly between students and tutors. Tooty uses Stripe as a third party payment processor and tutors receive payments through Stripe Connected Accounts using full accounts in their own name. This means tutors connect or create their Stripe account, complete any required identity and payout steps, and Stripe pays out funds to the tutor based on the tutor’s Stripe settings. Tooty facilitates the connection between users and routes payments through Stripe, but Tooty is not a party to the tutoring agreement or the payment transaction between the student and the tutor. Refunds are decided and issued only by the tutor, and Tooty does not control whether a refund is approved or processed. Stripe may apply its own processing rules, timelines, and terms to payments, payouts, and refunds. If you believe there is a billing error or an unauthorized charge, contact your tutor first. You may also contact Stripe or your card issuer or bank, as applicable.
How can I contact support?
You can contact Tooty through the Contact Us page. Use it for things like login or account issues, trouble booking or joining a class, payment or Stripe connection questions, bugs, and general platform help. Share as much detail as you can, like what you were trying to do and any error message you saw, so we can help faster. You can also use the Contact Us page to suggest improvements or request new features. For refunds, please contact your tutor directly.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
To reset your password, click on the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page. Enter your registered email address and check your inbox for the reset link. Follow the instructions to set a new password. If you don't receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam folder or try again.
How can I update my profile information?
Keeping your profile up to date is simple. Go to your Profile, update any of the fields you want, then click Save. You can also change your profile photo and save it the same way. Profile photos are reviewed first, so your new photo will appear to other users only after it is approved. If you are a tutor, you can also update your resume anytime in the Tutoring Resume tab by editing the fields and clicking Save.
How do I log out of my account?
To log out, simply click on your profile icon at the top of the page and select 'Logout' from the dropdown menu. You will be safely signed out of your account and redirected to the homepage.
How do I deactivate my account?
You can deactivate your account from Settings under Profile. Select Deactivate Account and confirm. This cannot be undone automatically. Your profile will be hidden, you will be removed from any classes you applied for or are attending, and your teaching classes will be closed or unpublished depending on their status. You will not be able to use Tooty while your account is deactivated. To come back, simply log in and press the Activate button to reactivate your account at any time.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from Settings under Profile. Select Delete Account and confirm. This action cannot be undone. We will delete your personal information from our systems, but we may keep certain records if we are required to do so by law, for example for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. After deletion, you will lose access to your account, and if you want to use Tooty again you will need to create a new account. If you only need a break, consider deactivating your account instead.
